The initiative which “Reforms and adds several legal provisions of the Federal Law of Remuneration of Public Servants and the Federal Penal Code”

As a consequence of the hurry for the approval and publication of the Federal Law of Remuneration of Public Servants, today was published the initiative which “Reforms and adds various provisions of the Federal Law of Remuneration of Public Servants and the Federal Penal Code” in the Parliamentary Gazette.

The initiative which “Reforms and adds several legal provisions of the Federal Law of Remuneration of Public Servants and the Federal Penal Code” was published today in the Parliamentary Gazette. It was promoted by all the parliamentary groups and led by the president of the Political Coordination Board, deputy Mario Delgado. From its content, the following aspects are relevant:

While the primary restriction is maintained in order that no public servant receives a remuneration or compensation greater than those established for the President of the Republic in the Federal Expense Budget, this initiative adjust its legal text to maintain internal consistency and harmonize with the rest of the Mexican legal system.

Previous referred initiative includes to the list of subjects obliged to comply with the Law all those public servants who are part of the autonomous constitutional entity, coordinated regulatory entity in energy matters and State productive enterprises.

Additionally, first transitory article urges to the chief executive to issue the corresponding regulation within 30 days after this reform project is published in the Federal Official Gazette.

It is important to warn the public servants who filed a petition for a writ of amparo against the Federal Law of Remuneration of Public Servants —as a self-activating rule— that should consider whether the articles were claimed will suffer any change based on this initiative. Not considering these aspects would become a risk to dismissal those claim.
