What happened to Cannabis regulation in Mexico?

On August 14, 2019, the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice (“SCJN”) issued its decision on amparo trial 57/2019, wherein it ordered the Ministry of Health to comply, within a 180 days term, with the order contained in articles 235 bis, 290 and fourth transitory of the Decree amending and adding various provisions of the General Health Law, aimed at regulating the therapeutic use and scientific research of cannabis (sativa, indica and American, including its resin, its preparations, its seeds, THC and CBD) as well as its production and distribution in Mexico.
